Clarification on git-based vs api-driven? #869

Description

@nachtfunke

Hello! I was wondering what the differentiator exactly is for considering a CMS api-driven or git-based? I am wondering, because Statamic is also considered a git-based CMS, so I am not sure what this exactly means.

When is a CMS considered git-based and when is it considered api-driven? Is it just a synonym for "file-based"?

    "Git-based" CMSs store content as files in your repository and commit changes through Git, while "API driven" CMSs keep content in their own database and serve it over an API. A file-based CMS like Statamic counts as Git-based when its content lives in the repo. Hope that helps!
